Later, land was donated by Mr. & Mrs. Fred Rogers and the church bought an acre of land from Mr. & Mrs. Doyle Mahan, making a total of two acres.

During the Depression era, the congregation persevered and continued to grow. As a rural farming community, they were better able to cope with the difficult financial times than their city cousins.

By the end of World War II, the church was prosperous enough to build a parsonage, completed in 1947. The men of the church and the Pastor, Joseph Oliver, built the parsonage.

In 1935, Christie Pool, one of the charter members of the church, was sent to Africa as a Missionary. He met his future wife on the boat; she was also a missionary. In 1950, Sunday School rooms were added to the church. In 1951 a Baptistry was added.

James Rose, a former Pastor of this church was sent to Alaska as a missionary in 1955. The church helped buy a boat for him to travel to his work. On July 11, 1955, the church sponsored a mission in Hurst. The mission flourished and became Bellevue Baptist Church within a year. This mission was started during J. H. Shockey's ministry.
